Cherlyn Smith: A Passion for Public Service
Cherlyn Smith is a technical writer/ IT auditor consultant for TEK Systems for the last 4 years mainly her background is in drug and alcohol prevention and budget when she was with Department of Defense from 2002. Cherlyn believes that reform is in anyone that wants it as long as they have the right support. Her passion came from when she was a case manager in the State of Florida in the Welfare reform program under President Bill Clinton era, Cherlyn’s dedication to serving the community has one unstopped since 2008.

With her career she was able to have a business in Hardin County Screen printing shop, Event Hall and Consulting. When in the timeframe of 2008-2022. She has constantly been active in the community since 2006 from The Friends of the CAV 16th Cavalry Regiment (Fort Knox), FRG, Easter hunts, Fall Festivals. She is a member of Order of The Eastern Star Morning Glory #35, Gamma Phi Delta, Sorority Inc., Hardin County Women’s Democratic Club, and Elizabethtown Garden Club, She sat on the RSBA (Radcliff Small Business Alliance) Gala committee, She is also a member of Emerge America 2023 Alumni

Cherlyn loves to volunteer her time to The Room The Inn (RITI), Warm Blessings Soup Kitchen, Feeding America and North Hardin Middle School during holiday to help the cafeteria staff with serving.
You can find her at Haycraft Urban Garden (HUG) community garden which as once left for the residents of Haycraft and in the years had become neglected with her love for nature and outdoors she took the project on with the blessings of Mayor Jeff Gregory. The goal is to bring it back to life and teach the residents gardening and much more.
Cherlyn had attended Everest University and studied Criminal Justice and received a quality amount of certifications while with The Department of Defense.
She enjoys spending time with her Church family at All Nations Worship Ministries, and spending time with her 3 children and grandchildren, father, mother and siblings.
